Series Five Course Meal: Appetizers. 2011
The photographic series Five Course Meals was created at Point Pleasant Park in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, using only natural materials found on site. The tradition of the five course meal originally comes from France Haute Cuisine, in which multiple courses with different tastes and customs are served. These temporary actions reflects on the way cooking can render abstract the provenance of food and the relationship between culture and nature, and to reiterate in a humorous manner that food still emerges from earthy places.
